Learning
Schools may book a 2 hour session throughout the year on the following themes: Romans; 1950s; Edwardians; the textiles industry and a comparative study of a modern Indian weaving village with Crewkerne 150 years ago. We can also do additional themes as requested. These visits include a gallery session and hands-on activities linked to the topic.
Schools may also borrow resources from the museum or a volunteer from the museum can visit the school to talk about objects. Please contact the Museum for more information.
The museum will also produce appropriate activities to link to learning in consultation with teachers on other themes.
Research
The Museum can assist researchers with enquiries about the collection, family history and Crewkerne’s history. It provides a Local History Room for public use with access to an extensive archive of material. Please contact the Museum for more information.
Commercial Hire & Services
The Museum offers the Andrew Room for private hire which can accommodate up to 35 people with kitchen facilities for making drinks, lift, same-floor toilet and wall space to exhibit art work. Bookings available all year, please contact the Museum for more information.
Other Useful Information
The ground floor of the site is wheelchair friendly and there is a Disabled toilet available. A lift to the second floor gives access to the meeting room (The Andrew Room), but there are 3 steps down to Gallery 4.
